So I hope everyones christmas was awesome!! Mine was so great. My favorite present was for sure skyping with my family that was amazing. THEN we got to go teach one of our investigators but she actually had to work so we talked with her aunt and her aunt is super super sick like she is waiting for a lung transplant and its really sad:( but we got to talk to her and she told us that we were here for a reason and we were gonna be here a long time.. so we will see but I just love seeing the look on peoples faces when I tell them that they can see their families again and have eternal life. its a hard road to get there but its there. :) Christmas dinner was interesting the family we were supposed to eat with wasnt there... so.. we left and went to Steak and Shake! the only place in Aurora opened on Christmas. it was great. Definetly a memory I wont forget!
I cant believe is almost 2015!!! wow!! Time flies. I hope you all have made your goals and if you havent get on that! make this year AWESOME!! Monday, December 29, 2014
Christmas time!!! yay!
So this week we had a Christmas conference and President and Sister Porter let us watch meet the mormons!! which was so awesome! Sister Chavez hasnt seen a movie in over 10 months so I was pretty excited for her... :) it was a really good day! Christmas season in the mission field is so awesome. Its weird cause you dont have the normal christmas music and hallmark movies and all that stuff that usually makes christmas feel like christmas but out here we really get to reflect Christs birth. And how AMAZING that is. And how Christmas is about family and spending time with loved ones and service! a whole bunch of service.
There are so many families here that dont have any money. no money at all for their kids for christmas. But immediately they would say, "Christmas is about our savior and our family." How that line touches my heart EVERY TIME I hear it now. It is so important to reflect on Christs birth and life. And how important the people we love are. I love Christmas!! ho ho ho. also I learned that in 1 Nephi 13 it talks about Christopher Columbus and the Revolutionary war... PRETTY COOL.
Yesterday It was a hard day for me and I was praying and praying for something to make it easier or just a sign or just SOMETHING to make me feel better. We were walking around a trailer park and there was a lady that was in our records from like 2008 so we decided to go see her. And she let us in and told us that she KNEW we were sent to her house for a reason and since the other sisters came by she never felt a connection or trusted and of the other missionaries, but she trusted us and she wants to change and she knows that in her heart she is a mormon. I love her so much already and I felt just a glimpse of the love Heavenly father has for all of us. He loves us so much and knows us by name. I love this gospel!
Merry Christmas to you all!! I love you guys!

its been 2 months today!
its crazy that its been two months. super weird. it feels like I have been out like 2 years to be honest!! but its also gone by fast... I cant explain it! anyways. this week was super hard. not many people wanted to talk to us and most of our appointments fell through it was a struggle. But we found a new investigator and he has 6 little kids:) they are so adorable!! We start teaching them this wednesday.
This morning I was trying to flip my preach my gospel up like a soccer ball and it flew and knocked over a lit candle.....so now there is read wax all over the carpet. so if anyone knows how to get out wax let me know so I dont get in trouble! hahah of course I did that who else would. thanksgiving week!!!
I hope you all had a great thanksgiving! I sure had a great one:)
All the families here are so awesome to us and take care of us great! We got 3 meals... I had to decide what I was gonna eat at each house cause I honestly felt like I was gonna explode I was so so full! But on Thanksgiving we were going to go see a potential investigator we ran into walking around so we knocked on his door and a old woman opened the door.. we were a little confused but I guess we got the wrong house! Anyways, she was super interested and asked us to come back so that was a blessing right there. She is super sweet.Sister Jones

<3
This week I have been thinking about love and charity. loving everyone and loving people that are hard to love and not judging. Having the love of Christ and not thinking about yourself all the time and just being selfless. go serve someone!! go tell someone you love them just because you do.Dont take people for granted because you never know when they are gonna be gone. Stop getting yourself wrapped up in all this worldly stuff and focus on what really matters. The people you love. Because in the end Christ wants all of us to love eachother. We are all his children! Smile at someone just cause! you have no idea what people are going through:) Befriend someone who needs a friend because you were probably put in their life for a reason. Reach out to someone that needs some love because thats what christ would do and he wants ALL of his children to feel loved. The love of Christ is infinite and sometimes we might feel alone but we are never ever alone. If we just pray and draw closer to him there will be so many blessing and changes we cant even imagine. THe song Abide with me Tis eventide comes to mind and I want all of you to go listen to it! REALLY listen to it. I hope you all have a great week and I love you all!

great week in the OCM!
well this week was good! President Porter promised us that if we went through our area books and looked for former investigators and stuff then we would find someone to baptize! So we have been working super duper hard to find new investigators! And we have! There was a guy that met with the missionaries like a year ago and went to church once so we went and saw him for like 20 minutes and we asked him if he knew the BOM was true and he said yes.. so we were super pumped then we asked him if he would be baptized and he said YES?!!! what!! so crazy! so we have another lesson with him tonight keep him and us in your prayers! I really hope that he felt the spirit and knows this is the right thing to do. But his wife didnt seem to happy about it unfortunetly.... but thats okay Heavenly father will find a way!! I have seen gods grace in so many different ways and my realtionship with him is getting better and better! I love it here!

First Week!
Hello Everyone!! Wow I cant believe its already been a week! It actually feels like 5 months in 7 days. 16 hour days are nuts! The first 3 days were some of the hardest days ever. All that change that is happening and emotions just non- stop go go go was so crazy. But on saturday I got to carve pumpkins because sweet maren oborn sent me them! I was so grateful it made my hard days a little easier! The main thing I have been focusing on this week is love. Love your family, love your friends, love the people you serve, and love your Heavenly Father. It all comes down the that. Love. You dont have anything if you dont have love!! I have never learned to love a group of people so fast in my life then my district. I love them so much they make me laugh so hard! Heavenly Father definetly put them in my life for a reason. But basically I have just been studying studying studying! ITs hard I am not gonna lie But I am definetly learning to lean on my heavenly father and Jesus christ. They are there no matter what we are going through. Just pray! pray 20 times a day if you need he always wants to listen. my love for them has already grown and I have only been here 1 week. I cant wait to see what 1 year will do! Thank you for all your prayers I can already feel them. Talk to ya next week!
Love, Sister Jones

Reporting to the MTC
On October 15th Sister Jones was ready and excited for her new adventure. The day before, this calming peace came over her and I knew she was ready. She will be such an amazing influence on the people of Ohio. Her family will miss her sweet calming spirit and her quick smile. She has been such an amazing example to us all and we are so proud of her!
