hey everyone! :) so this week was good!  it was super busy and crazy but thats just mission life for ya. It was Stake Conference and all the talks were amazing President Schrecengost is so awesome. (I dont know if I spelt his name right) but he is a great speaker! None of our investigators came to Stake conference wich was sad but theres always next week:) I am learning to play the piano cause my companion knows how so maybe I will come back being a musician.... jk wont happen but I am learning! its pretty sweet! I got to teach seminary and it was so awesome to be with people who seem more of my age... I feel really young here I dont know why! But they all seemed super pumped to go on missions and they got to ask us all the questions that everyone asks about missionary work. it was so fun:)

I cant believe its already February! so crazy! I have been out 3 and a half months already and I feel the spirit more and more everyday. This week and all the lessons we have taught has been all focused on love and charity and I know that I talk alot about that in my emails but I cant even tell you how important it is to SHOW PEOPLE YOU LOVE THEM. charity is the pure love of chirst and it is the center of everything. in moroni 7:46-48 it talks all about that and President Porter told us to replace the word charity with atonement. it means the same thing. without the atonement we are nothing. without charity we are nothing. I love those scriptures.

again I left my camera.........SORRY.

Love you all.

Hey

So I am getting transferred! so crazy! its a bit stressful and I am scared to leave Aurora but I know the big man upstairs has a plan! So if anyone is sending me anything send it to this address until I get my actual address next p day.

This week was really interesting. All of our investigators couldn't come to church and it was super sad but on Saturday we were looking at the less active members of our ward and a name stuck out to me so we drove like 40 minutes to his house!! and the whole time I was thinking man heavenly father I hope theres a reason we are going out in the middle of no where! So we got there and his brother answered the door and the member was at work..... so..... I was bummed. but we talked to his brother and his wife that are Baptist and we told them that we were singing in church the next day. and the wife asked what song and we told them "Come Thou Fount." so we said hey if you wanna come you guys are welcome to! We left and didn't think anything of it. then we hit up some other less actives that also live in the middle of no where and they haven't been since July but they were so nice:) we also invited them to church and thought nothing of it. then sunday comes around and both of the families that we met that day were there!! comes to show that one of the ladies favorite songs was come thou fount so that's why they came:)  SO COOL! I felt the spirit so strong and I didn't even care that I had to sing that day because those people were there. it was an awesome last Sunday here. I am so sad I am leaving everyone here I have made some awesome memories! And there is definitely more to come. love you all! also happy birthday to my dad on Thursday!!!

hey hey hey !

Hey everyone! This week was super busy we had Zone meeting and interviews with President and Sister Porter and then Stake conference! But. it was a great week too:) so spiritual and I learned so many new things. There was an experience on Friday that really stuck out to me. So every night we plan for what we are gonna do the next day and sometimes I just dont want to do it cause I am SO TIRED everyone who knows me well knows that I am so dang tired all the time. hahaha:) But that night we said a prayer to help us focus and plan with the spirit and I had a thought that we needed to go see one of our investigators in the morning but we usually go see her at night but she hasnt answered our texts the past weeks so we thought that was weird but you ALWAYS need to act on spiritual promptings no matter what they are. or how weird you think they are. So we went that next morning and she told us that the last night was one of her hardest nights ever and was bawling and was just really sad and she said thought "I could really use the sisters right now" But she said she felt bad that she wasnt answering us so she didnt call us. And then she said what a blessing you sisters showed up at my door at the exact moment I needed you. heavenly father really does listen to my prayers! :)
That was just a reminder that Heavenly father is always there and knows us PERSONALLY!! he knows all of our weaknesses and our strengths.
Transfers are next week! kinda crazy how time flies. it has most definetly been the HARDEST 3 months of my life. President Porter told me that the first night I was in Cincinnati and I didnt believe him but man he was right on the dot!! It has been so hard but so rewarding. What a blessing it is to be a missionary.
I love you all.

heloooo!

So I hope everyones christmas was awesome!! Mine was so great. My favorite present was for sure skyping with my family that was amazing. THEN we got to go teach one of our investigators but she actually had to work so we talked with her aunt and her aunt is super super sick like she is waiting for a lung transplant and its really sad:( but we got to talk to her and she told us that we were here for a reason and we were gonna be here a long time.. so we will see but I just love seeing the look on peoples faces when I tell them that they can see their families again and have eternal life. its a hard road to get there but its there. :) Christmas dinner was interesting the family we were supposed to eat with wasnt there... so.. we left and went to Steak and Shake! the only place in Aurora opened on Christmas. it was great. Definetly a memory I wont forget!

I cant believe is almost 2015!!! wow!! Time flies. I hope you all have made your goals and if you havent get on that! make this year AWESOME!!

Christmas time!!! yay!

So this week we had a Christmas conference and President and Sister Porter let us watch meet the mormons!! which was so awesome! Sister Chavez hasnt seen a movie in over 10 months so I was pretty excited for her... :) it was a really good day! Christmas season in the mission field is so awesome. Its weird cause you dont have the normal christmas music and hallmark movies and all that stuff that usually makes christmas feel like christmas but out here we really get to reflect Christs birth. And how AMAZING that is. And how Christmas is about family and spending time with loved ones and service! a whole bunch of service.
There are so many families here that dont have any money. no money at all for their kids for christmas. But immediately they would say, "Christmas is about our savior and our family." How that line touches my heart EVERY TIME I hear it now. It is so important to reflect on Christs birth and life. And how important the people we love are. I love Christmas!! ho ho ho.

also I learned that in 1 Nephi 13 it talks about Christopher Columbus and the Revolutionary war... PRETTY COOL.

Yesterday It was a hard day for me and I was praying and praying for something to make it easier or just a sign or just SOMETHING to make me feel better. We were walking around a trailer park and there was a lady that was in our records from like 2008 so we decided to go see her. And she let us in and told us that she KNEW we were sent to her house for a reason and since the other sisters came by she never felt a connection or trusted and of the other missionaries, but she trusted us and she wants to change and she knows that in her heart she is a mormon. I love her so much already and I felt just a glimpse of the love Heavenly father has for all of us. He loves us so much and knows us by name. I love this gospel!

Merry Christmas to you all!! I love you guys!

its been 2 months today!

its crazy that its been two months. super weird. it feels like I have been out like 2 years to be honest!! but its also gone by fast... I cant explain it! anyways. this week was super hard. not many people wanted to talk to us and most of our appointments fell through it was a struggle. But we found a new investigator and he has 6 little kids:) they are so adorable!! We start teaching them this wednesday.

This morning I was trying to flip my preach my gospel up like a soccer ball and it flew and knocked over a lit candle.....so now there is read wax all over the carpet. so if anyone knows how to get out wax let me know so I dont get in trouble! hahah of course I did that who else would.

I love you all. I hope you are all doing good!

thanksgiving week!!!

I hope you all had a great thanksgiving! I sure had a great one:)
All the families here are so awesome to us and take care of us great! We got 3 meals... I had to decide what I was gonna eat at each house cause I honestly felt like I was gonna explode I was so so full! But on Thanksgiving we were going to go see a potential investigator we ran into walking around so we knocked on his door and a old woman opened the door.. we were a little confused but I guess we got the wrong house! Anyways, she was super interested and asked us to come back so that was a blessing right there. She is super sweet.
On Wednesday it was a hard day every single house we went to there were no trespassing signs and Beware of dog signs all over. like 50% of the houses! It was annoying. But we went any way... there was no luck all day long and it was really stressful! So at 8:30 at night we pulled over and I said okay Sister Chavez we need to say a prayer so ask where in the world heavenly father needs us to be tonight. So we said a prayer and there was still no answer. I pulled out the area book from the back seat and a name stuck out to me so we decided to head over there. We knocked and a guy answered the door we talked a little and asked if he had seen missionaries before and he had:) He is a single dad with a daughter and super nice. We asked if we could come back and if he came to know the church was true if he would be baptized and he said yes. MIRACLE!!!! we were so happy and knew that heavenly father provided a way for us to be directed to who he has prepared. it was a good week!

All of you guys need to go watch the He is the gift video! it really is amazing and puts the Christ back in Christmas. and I think we all need a little of that. :) I hope you guys are all doing amazing and I love you all!! have a great week!
